At Harrison's Hope, we believe that truly inclusive communities start with environments designed for everyone—especially individuals living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and other neurodevelopmental differences. Our new Accessibility Consulting and Co-Design Support service helps organizations, municipalities, schools, service providers, and businesses create spaces that reduce barriers and promote thriving.
Built Environment Audits
We conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed audits of physical spaces—including buildings, public areas, schools, workplaces, and community facilities—to identify accessibility challenges specific to FASD and neurodiversity. Our audits go beyond standard mobility considerations to examine:
Safety and regulation features tailored to executive functioning differences
Flexibility for varying support needs
Each audit delivers a clear, prioritized report with practical recommendations, cost estimates, and phased implementation guidance to make your space more FASD-informed and universally accessible.
Co-Design Workshops and Ongoing Support
We don't just audit—we partner with you. Our co-design process actively involves people with lived FASD experience, caregivers, and your team to create solutions that truly work. Services include:
Collaborative design workshops and focus groups
Customized training for architects, planners, facility managers, and staff
Guidance on retrofits, new builds, and policy development
Post-implementation evaluation and continuous improvement support
Whether you're planning a renovation, designing a new program space, or aiming to meet accessibility standards with heart and expertise, our team ensures the voice of those most affected guides the work.
This service builds on our broader mission of FASD education, agency consultations, and creating inclusive communities where individuals and families can thrive.
Ready to make your space more accessible and welcoming?
